Anyone know how to paint water?

If I am a painter at all, its probably an abstract painter. The reason for that is its more an expression of something in ones subconscious. The only 'representational' painting I made is 'The Last Rehersal' (in the paintings folder under 'Images'). That was a surreal image itself so verging on the abstract, as I couldnt really tell you what it means. It did however bring up an issue, of how to paint water.

I made another painting - called 'Wave' (again in the paintings folder) which was an exciting painting to make as it seemed to have an animalistic feel. The physical process was such a joy. However it still didnt really answer the question as aside from the very top, it didnt really look like water, so I eventually after literally months of procrastinating, started on this...

which quickly started to take a physical shape, although I was reminded by my brother that all waves are based upon a sine -wave shape however broken they might become, and thus various parts of this lose a sence of water because of this. However, I thought that haveing got the rough shape, I could lay on some froth... Oh dear...

The trouble is this has now become more like a mountain range.

This terrible tale will be updated presently!
